Protecting and Backing Up Your ESXI System

These days, computers are an essential part of every business that exists.  Computer technology is constantly evolving and we are always finding new ways to streamline hardware and optimize software to make our lives simpler and our data sufficiently protected.  Virtualization is one of the most highly advantageous advancements to date.

Having a virtualized ESXI system allows the user to install many applications and operating systems on one computer or server.  This means that you can use your system’s resources in real time, as necessary.  For instance, if you had 500GB available and you wish to run 5 different operating systems, you can designate 100GB to each.  If you are only running one operating system at a time, you can simply use all 500GB at that time, and then use that same storage for an alternate operating system or application.

Software such as VMware makes virtualizing your computer system simple and efficient.  There is no reason to have cumbersome physical hardware, when you can streamline your resources, saving time, space, and money.

There are a number of reasons why a business may prefer a virtualized system.  One prominent and obvious benefit is the fact that a virtualized computer can do the work that previously required multiple computers.  Besides being a much more efficient method of computing and storing data, virtualization is also safer and more protective.  Viruses and corruption are a significant concern when dealing with computers, especially when your business relies on these devices.  Virtualization allows you to isolate particular problems.  If there is a breach or a problem, you will not have to risk damaging the entire system.  Instead, you can simply isolate the operating system or application that is affected and fix the error or simply delete the infected file.

While the risks of being infiltrated or infected are substantially minimized with the use of a virtualized system, it is still important to have esxi backup software, just in case.  You never know when there could be a problem and keeping a backup of your data is always a prudent move.  Many businesses have experienced enormous monetary loss, simply because they did not have the proper software in place to protect them from a system crash.  You can never be too careful when dealing with computers.  You will surely find that protecting and backing up your ESXI system is beneficial, should an unforeseen problem arise.
